Mr. Syed Ahsanul Alam was born on the 14 th June 1959 in a pious and respected Muslim family of Satkania, Chittagong . He comes from a reputed business background with an Industrialist father S. N. Alam, Chairman- Karam Ali Industries and physician mother Dr. Hosne Ara, former Director Chittagong Medical College Hospital ,Director of Health,Dhaka (GOB). Also a Rotarian Prof. Alam is happily married with Doctor. Sabina & is the father of one son Shaheer & daughter Neshmeen.

He was born in a highly educated business family grown up in a high profile business environment and was also educated in business Administration and Marketing at Home and Abroad. He did his S.S.C from Saint Placids High School and His Medium of instruction was english all through. Mr.Alam did his Honours in Management, Masters in Marketing from the University of Chittagong , M.Phil in Marketing ( University of Rajshahi ). He did his postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (GDPM) from National University , Singapore . Professor Alam was a Ph.D Fellow at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies , University of Rajshahi . Mr. Alam has contributed numerous articles to leading business journals in India , Pakistan , Srilanka , Thailand and Hongkong. He is exceptional orator and presenter in English. |

| Syed Ahsanul Alam was Director, Sadharon Bima Corporation. Chairman-Center for Good Governance, University of Chittagong . His recent administrative post includes Vice rector- Premier University,Treasurer-USTC (SWC), Representative of the President, USTC. He lectured widely at various business schools including University of Science and Technology, Premier University Open University, ABAC Thailand and also in Singapore . Rotarian Syed Ahsanul Alam is a well known Academician, Institution Building Personality and Activist for Good Governance. |

As the lone son of the late industrialist S.N.Alam, Mr. Syed Ahsanul Alam had to take the responsibilities of the family business and estate by inheritance.
His father late Syed Nurul Alam was the founder of Alam Group was a successful business entrepreneur, who successfully established many enterprises and business concern.
His father was the founder of Karam Ali Industries. With a humble start within 30 years his father built a business empire.Mr. Alam (senior) established himself as an industrialist during East Pakistan by competing with his Pakistani non Bengali competitors. Parvez & Company, Ahsan & Company, Maxell Corporation, Dilruba Enterprise and Deens Corporation, are some of the enterprises he established under the umbrella of Alam group. Imperial is a concern of Alam Group, a well-known entrepreneur family in the port city since the early 1960. Imperial Group formerly known as Alam Group was in construction business since early 1970. They have constructed many buildings both in the Govt. and Private sector, Police and BDR camps at "Thansi & Roang Chari" in the Chittagong hill tracks- This group also worked with "Ital Monlagi" an international construction giant who constructed the gas infrastructure of BGSL under the Ministry of power and energy.
Only with a pause Imperial Group later started apartment complex and worked hard to become the market leader in the Real Estate Industry of Bangladesh.
The lone inheritor of the Imperial group of companies and entrepreneur of many other business concern opted to take up University teaching as his passion.
He bridges the gap between theory and practice of business environment. With his high academic background and excellent educational carrier and commendable experience in the field of Trade, Industry, Economy, Construction, Real Estate, Stock Market. Mr. Alam is a very different species of business teacher second to none in the country to transform his wisdom and business knowledge into simple applied business techniques which he teaches during lecturing so that his students can become more successful by becoming effective business executive in the real life situation of business and industry. |

Prof. Alam's first love is building institutions. He has been a pioneer in introducing postgraduate business education in the private sector. He was the honorary founder Coordinator of the Faculty of business, University of Science & Technology, Chittagong . Honorary vice Dean Faculty of business USTC. He is the founder member of the Board of Sponsor, International Institute of business & Technology (IIBT), member governing body IAHS – USTC, representative of the Vice chancellor - National University in the governing body of S.M. Awlia degree college, Chittagong. |

Presently Mr.Syed Ahsanul Alam is Chief Advisor of Chittagong University Student Association (CUSAB'83), Vice Chairman- Chittagong University Management Association,Vice Chairman- Rotary Club of Metropolitan Chittagong.
He gives lavishly of his time and efforts to various social and educational institutions. He was the Organizing secretary of Bangladesh kidney Foundation (BKF) Chittagong . He is Managing Trustee of S. N. Alam foundation, Adviser to Bangladesh homeopathic Medical Association (BHMA), life member of Bangladesh kidney foundation, life member of Bangladesh diabetic Association, life Member of social welfare Project (Government of Bangladesh), Old Placidian Alumni Association and donor life member of Bawa School and Chief patron of Sangeet Bhaban. He was research fellow at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS), Rajshahi. As an adviser and researcher he has consulted with many companies, NGO's at home and abroad. |
